Most hotels, restaurants, and larger stores in India accept international credit and debit cards. However, smaller shops, street vendors, and auto-rickshaws often prefer cash or UPI (India’s mobile payment system). We recommend carrying some Indian Rupees for daily expenses. You can exchange currency at the airport, banks, or authorized exchange counters, or withdraw cash from ATMs using your card. Just remember to inform your bank before you travel so your card works internationally.
